The Ideal Pocket Monster Tales: Z-A Super Form Based on the Zodiac Sign
The comeback of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread enthusiasm across the fandom. Starting with the one-by-one unveiling of fresh additions ahead of the game's release, to players developing strong opinions on the full lineup of new Megas, there's a lot for fans to look forward to.
With numerous of the Mega Evolutions boasting unique appearances that emphasize their personalities, one idea came to mind: What's the best way to link this with zodiac signs? This list is based on a blend of vibes, common zodiac traits, and personal experience.
The Ram – Super Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndour's evolution was almost selected for this fire sign, as both are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that inspire the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom comes across as always angry, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, known for being playful, light-hearted, and impulsive. That's why the Ram much more akin to Super Camerupt, which only spews lava when provoked. Stay on the friendly side of both and benefit from a powerful ally; if you cross them, prepare to face the consequences.
Taurus – Mega Heracross
Similar to a loyal Bull, the steadfast Heracross, whether in its regular and Super Form, has aided many trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, both the creature and a Bull are still Fighting types, and – be it their trainer or a strong opinion – will defend their side unwaveringly. The thing about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unabashed love of snacks. Many previous Pokédex entries note their craving for sweet tree sap and how it uses its horn to hoard it all, which is true Taurus energy.
The Twins – Super Medicham
Observe this absolute royalty. You cannot tell me this creature is not the soul of every party, providing an endless stream of gossip to those who wants to listen. Just like an captivating, gregarious Twins, it's very easy to imagine Mega Medicham captivating an entire Wild Zone with their stories. This Pokémon's official description also mentions its ability to predict an opponent's next moves, which seems very similar to a people-smart Gemini.
Cancer – Super Manectric
The Crab is widely considered as the most emotional member of the astrological wheel, a passionate sign known for frequently becoming wrapped up in their feelings. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution charges the Pokémon with a “huge quantity of energy, but it's excessive for this Pokémon to fully control,” which seems a lot like a classic Cancer emotional outburst. It is also recognized for its ability to make a storm cloud over its own head – and if there’s a single trait a Cancer is going to do, it’s spoil their good time.
The Lion – Mega Starmie
Well, did you assume I was planning to pick Pyroar for the king of the zodiac? Aside from the fact that it would be much too on the nose, Leo is obviously Super Starmie, the diva whose gams just became an internet sensation for being too glamorous (or terrifying, based on your preference). Players couldn’t look away from the purple starfish, and that’s exactly the same vibe a Leo brings to the scene. Starmie is also said to be transmitting radio waves from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Lion to be staging a show, even if for extraterrestrials.
The Maiden – Super Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Virgo is perfectly represented in Super Victreebel, the Mega with constant acid reflux. The zodiac symbol famous for being endearingly critical is strongly reflected across this Pokémon’s entire lineage, from a perpetually shocked face like a Virgo when you tell them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its upside-down visage that’s just like the symbol a Maiden posts to the group chat when all says they want to “go with the flow” instead of making a plan.
Libra – Mega Audino
Observe this gentle, empathetic creature, who employs the feelers on its ears to tell how people are emotionally by their pulse. Always compassionate – occasionally to a fault – and trying to keep the harmony, there are numerous Libras who would likely appreciate Mega Audino’s skills. However, let’s be honest, it would likely just make them worry more about everyone else.
Scorpio – Mega Banette
Banette is a creature with a surprisingly sad origin: Abandoned as a toy, it gained consciousness through pure resentment and swore revenge on its previous caretaker. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “enhances its spitefulness.” That seems exactly like many conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpion friends. A Scorpio loves cosmic justice and retribution, making them the ideal match with Super Banette.
The Archer – Mega Hawlucha
Each Super Hawlucha and Archers are constantly putting on a show. Being a Archer personally, the number of occasions I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “silly small jester” is countless. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Super Form, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “flexes to show off its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Super Form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Archer counterpart I can imagine.
The Goat – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Super Absol has the power to predict disasters in advance? That gives the identical energy as a Goat, who often always believe they’re correct. The thing is, much like a prophetic Mega Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the very first Mega Evolution that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to get in on the ground floor of the Super Form craze.
The Water Bearer – Super Chandelure
Detached element Aquarius is possibly the non-flame sign that is most like a flame symbol – its sister sign is Leo, and there are countless jokes about the Archer and Water Bearer being unpredictable partners in crime. Super Chandelure's dual Spirit/Flame typing matches seamlessly with this, and the Super Form's overall intimidating presence is also very Water Bearer. If you hadn't yet persuaded, the Super Form's Pokédex entry says it “absorbs negative energy and converts it into power.” If that fails to exactly {encaps
