Britain and France Will Dispatch Troops to the Country in the event that a Peace Deal is Reached

The London and Paris have inked a memorandum of understanding concerning the deployment of troops in Ukraine if a ceasefire be concluded with Moscow, the Prime Minister of Britain, Sir Keir Starmer, has stated.

Subsequent to negotiations with allied nations in the French capital, he noted that the two nations would "create military hubs across Ukraine and construct secure structures for weapons and equipment" to deter any subsequent attack.

The allied nations also proposed that the America would take the lead in monitoring a ceasefire.

Moscow has on multiple occasions cautioned that any non-Ukrainian military in Ukraine would be considered a "legitimate target", but has so far not commented on this recent announcement.

Russian President Vladimir Putin began a major offensive of Ukraine in early 2022, and Russian forces at this time controls about 20% of Ukraine's sovereign soil.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said that a "huge advance" had been made in the negotiations, but added that he would only view efforts to be "adequate" if they culminated in the end of the conflict.

Last week, he suggested a peace agreement was "largely prepared". Finalizing the last 10% would "decide the fate of the agreement, the fate of Ukraine and Europe".

Remaining Challenges
